No Better Time for Breathing

Breathing At A New Level

Hey Friends!

In all this fun we’re having these days, please take time to breathe. Not only does the breathing keep us alive, but it cleanses our systems.  Don’t let the all this ‘STUFF’ get you down! Instead, QUILT! AND BREATHE!

Even going to the grocery store can be challenge to getting a deep breath.  We stood in line OUTSIDE of Costco for an hour and a half.

It’s crazy out there.

As has become my own habit, I breathe best when in my sewing cave! I can let the stresses of the rest of the world melt away from me.  So many things come into focus!

Whoops! I lied! I don’t always breathe in my cave.

I found this mask on YouTube by  Riley Blake Designs

It’s a mask made by a nurse for nurses and had room to fit over the N95 mask.

I had become so involved with making face masks in the past week and a half that I was letting it stress me.  I want to be helpful during this time of extreme need!  Don’t get me wrong there.

But, our daughter came down with an upper respiratory viral infection and got told to stay home from work for 14 days.  Which, maybe in itself, wasn’t a bad thing.  Except, she’s stressing over her son and not bringing in any money, etc.  So, the breathing just wasn’t happening for me either.

Thus, the face masks became a stress and I’m pretty sure I was letting the hype get to me. Or, the fact that the Hubs was poo-pooing the whole thing. MEN!

As of yesterday, I cleaned off all surfaces (again) and hid all face mask making materials.

I put this quilt on Fancy (my longarm machine).  I’ve decided to name this quilt “Sunshine in my Rain”.  Because, literally, this quilt has brought sunshine into a rainy time.

I believe I’m going to make it a sampler to display some of designs I love to use and perhaps some I’m going to make up along the way.

I believe this quilt is going to go to a friend of mine.  She recently lost her dad after caring for him for a long time. She needs a bit of sunshine in her rainy time also and this quilt has done the trick for me for now!

Sunshine in my Rain

Do you have a quilt top you would like me to quilt for you?

Take a look at our Longarm Quilting Services page.

Now, I can breathe!

Quilting helps me do that and for now, I’m good!

I’ll finish this one, and two more client quilts.  Then I can get back to the face masks.

I have enough to do to keep the air going in and out for a time.  I can pray and find peace during these times of trouble.

Please don’t forget to share!

Nearly all my quilts have a story in them.  I plan to share as many as I remember with you.  The ups the downs the…”whoops!  What was I thinking”…moments.  As I move along I hope to inspire and encourage your journey in quilts.

I love to hear stories.

Please send me your stories about your quilts or whatever your making.  Where the idea started and how it moved from there.  And if you want me to, I’ll show them off for you.

Most of all, let’s have fun!
