This is me

Be patient with me, please. I don’t talk about myself well….but, here goes.

I’ve been creating one thing or another all my life. Whether it be book writing, drawing, faux painting, home decor, clothing, cooking, growing, crocheting, or quilting. I’ve been a teacher in our homeschool, a piano player at our church, and a caregiver to my parents. I’ve had my finger in bits and pieces of many things. I’m the baby of 9 (well, now 6) children. I’m a wife, mother of 3, and grandmother of a wonderful teen grandson. I’ve lived in Anchorage, Alaska, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and now in Soldotna, Alaska.

I learned to sew at my mother’s hand at 9 years old. Mother taught me to crochet at about the same time. From there I was making my own clothes, building afghans and a lot of doilies. Once I got married, I started sewing pillows and curtains. When we were finally into our own house, I was stripping and restaining cabinets, faux painting the walls, and had flower beds in abundance. By the time we moved out of that house, I had plans mapped out to redo the whole place.

Life had other plans and we moved to Hawaii for 12 years. Hawaii is beautiful. Great place to visit. For us, though, there isn’t anything like the open spaces of Alaska. We’re back home now. Only we’ve settled in Soldotna, Alaska. We couldn’t be happier!

When our grandson came along, quilts had become my passion. I’ve been quilting well for 18 years now and Quilts continue to inspire and delight me. I don’t know that there is anything about them that I don’t like - Well….except maybe ironing.

Recently, I’ve gone back to an older passion for drawing and learning the digital way.

I’m glad to say that the well is never dry. God keeps blessing and I keep hoping to be a blessing.

Please stay tuned here and on social media. Please enjoy the process!
