Quilting took me by storm in 2004. I’ve been growing and exploring quilts ever since.
Being a garment sewist had me well prepared for many of the aspects of quilting. It felt so natural to move into the quilting world.
What do I love about quilts? Everything!
I love fabric and all the array of color
I love deciding on a pattern or creating my own
I love cutting fabric into little pieces and then putting them back together
I love stitching all the layers together - to give any quilt a great final touch!
So yeah! Everything! There isn’t much I don’t like about quilts. I started out quilting on my domestic machine. I created several quilts this way. In 2013, I got my HandiQuilter Fusion 24. I only fell deeper in love with quilts at this point. Putting the final touches onto a quilt and giving it just a little bit more love. I love to see a quilt being used and quilting the quilt top get it closer to its loving place.
For those that aren’t my own quilt, I love to get a picture of the quilt and create a few mockups of my own or my client’s ideas on it. This has been a great starting place for many of my clients. I often hear how great it was to see what the finished product could actually look like. Some of my clients say, “Do what feels good to you.” That’s great too! They usually see a mockup anyway. It’s just my way of ensuring we are on the same page.
