Morning Star

Morning Star began as a quilting idea. I had built a quilt that reminded me of being on a lakeside with mountains in the background and the sun rising in the background. This had me thinking about how I would quilt it. I marinated on that for a couple of years. I got so busy designing and creating quilt that this quilt was put on the back burner. Recently, with the process of our moving back home, I couldn’t do any sewing. My entire studio was in a container and on the water. So I pulled out my iPad and Pencil and started drawing. Of course, ‘Somewhere Happy’ wast he first, but ‘Morning Star"‘ was second. I couldn’t resist any longer. This one, went through several failures before I got to what you see here. Mostly, it was the journey. Now, I believe I will be able to actually quilt this quilt. Not with so much color - but certainly with the basics of this drawing.
