The Scenic Route Testers

How often do we get to just enjoy the scenery around where we live?

I see so many paintings and photos of so many places in my home state of Alaska that I have never seen. Then again, I would imagine I’ve taken pictures of areas where I live that no one else has seen either.

I’ve been to a few other states. Not a lot. I lived in Hawaii on Oahu for 12 years. And it’s very pretty. But I have yet to see any place that compares to Alaska. Maybe I will one day. Still… the view is spectacular. Open. Clean. Home.

I was captivated when these fabrics came into my inbox. I’m always captivated when fabrics come out with the Northern Lights. This year, they seem to be in abundance. I don’t know that I’ll get to make patterns for all of the different ones, but I couldn’t stop myself with this collection.

This collection is based on the paintings of Shane Lambe, a one-time resident of Alaska. His work has always had such clarity. His ability to grab onto the specifics of a landscape is amazing. What better way to keep a scene of such beauty alive?

Now that The Scenic Route has been released, I hope you will take a few minutes to check out the tester's vision for this design.

As is normal, we’re having a sale to celebrate this new pattern, and its companion, Oh, The Wonder (coming next week). Because these patterns are coming out in close succession, our sale will span both releases and then some.

Mark the dates - May 15, 2026, through May 29, 2026. All patterns will be on sale. Now, check out the tester quilts, and when you get to the bottom of this page, you’ll find the discount codes for 20% off!

Rachel Fields’ quilt is so very pretty. And the shimmer on the background fabric makes the center panel come alive. I couldn’t resist - I had to show you a close-up! Such beautiful work, Rachel, thank you so much!

Ruth Silva found the most amazing panel! A little additional fabric made it just the right size. And when don’t we quilters need to do a little adjusting?? You’ve done lovely work here, Ruth. Thank you so much!

I know, I know…it was a small group of testers. So many are off on vacations or managing busy schedules. I honestly know how it goes! I’m thankful for those who were able to participate. They perform the polishing step on my patterns. I appreciate all their hard work.

Now for those codes:

Retail buyers - Use code: NEWPATTERNSSPRING2026

Wholesale buyers - Use code: WHOLESALENEWPATTERNSSPRING2026

Go ahead and copy and paste - I know how long they are.

Don’t forget the dates - May 15, 2026, through May 29, 2026

Why is this sale so long? Because Oh, The Wonder comes out next week on May 21, 2026, and a sale is the best way I know of to celebrate. Oh, The Wonder uses the horizontal panels from this collection. There are two versions, differing only in a simple border change to match a different panel. This pattern is quick and easy to do in a weekend.

Please don't forget to share!

Much love,

Carolyn
