Two Patterns and Their Testers

Hey Everyone!

Last month, I thanked testers for improving the All A-Whirl Quilt pattern and mentioned that I was working on two new patterns, which are now in my shop.

Trip Around the Wild was designed to use Benartex’s fabric collection, Destination: Alaska. This collection was designed for Alaska shops, but I’m sure you could order from one of the shops up here if you wanted to use this collection along with the Trip Around the Wild pattern. Check out the Skagway Shop, Quilt Alaska, for these great fabrics.

The Rolling Stars quilt pattern also uses this collection and was put out to the shops as an alternative to Trip Around the Wild. It is a little something to show how the collection can be used differently.

The Rolling Stars Quilt pattern was designed many years ago for a client with a set of old floursack butterflies. I’ve shown off these butterflies here, on Facebook and Instagram. When the quilt was finished for my client, I couldn’t help but write it up as a pattern. It was just too fun and easy not to share with the rest of the world.

For this month’s post, I want to share all the beautiful quilts the testers created for these two patterns. There are a lot, so let’s get started!

Trip Around the Wild Quilt Testers

First off, we have Jessica Wilkie!

Jessica used a beautiful cheater fabric along with fabrics from her stash! Isn’t it just gorgeous? Who says cheater fabric can’t be cut up and used in a great design? I know I’m in love!

Check out Lisa McCarley’s quilt!

Her quilt is made from a Bison Buffalo fabric and has fantastic coordinates. What a beautiful quilt! Don’t you love what you see? I want to cozy up under this quilt and dream of better times!

Rachel Fields took this pattern and made something I never imagined.

She used her border fabric for the panels of this pattern! How about that? I would never have dreamed! Those bright colors draw a person in to look closer. She used fabrics from a Shop Hop her husband did for her in the Colorado Springs area in the Fall of 2023. What a husband! You go, Hubby Fields!

Our last tester for Trip Around the Wild is Vanessa Benrahmouni.

Vanessa used fabrics from her stash to show off her Kitty fabric. She used Coffee Bean from AGF to frame her fussy-cut Kitties. Then, she used some Wavy blue and yellow prints from Robert Kaufman. Next is a different cat fabric from Benartex, along with some sustainable fabrics in the form of sheets to fill in where needed.

Simply a beautiful piece of work!

Rolling Stars Quilt Testers

Debbie Fletcher is first in line for the Rolling Stars quilt pattern.

Even though the Rolling Stars quilt pattern doesn’t list a baby size, I sent fabric requirements to the testers who preferred a baby size and/or only had time for that size.

Debbie was one of the testers who went with the baby size and pulled fabrics from her stash for a beautiful blue and purple finish! What a well-rounded batch of fabrics to make one very gorgeous quilt.

Next is Jessica Boose with another blue beauty!

Jessica went straight to my heart with this classic blue and white quilt. I’ve always wanted to make one, and she’s keeping the dream alive! These stars roll right off the quilt with their amazing lights and dark fabrics. It's a super great combination!

Now, let’s take a look at another quilt by Jessica Wilkie!

This cheerful quilt radiates a summery vibe with its colorful, almost solid fabrics. I can't help but imagine enjoying a refreshing popsicle while lounging on the porch. Please don’t judge me; this quilt is yummy enough to eat!

Karen Hupp stepped in to help with our Rolling Stars Quilt pattern on this round.

Karen is another who chose to make the baby-size quilt with an amazing selection of fabrics! This quilt is so adorable with its contrasts of light and dark fabrics. I know it will be well-loved! Another super talented pattern tester here!

Lisa Giesfeldt is next in the Rolling Star Quilt pattern lineup!

Lisa made the Rolling Star Quilt pattern with the panels, and I’m so glad she did! She used some Bee fabric and fussy-cut the star centers and panels, and Voila! What a gorgeous quilt! Looking at this quilt, my stomach gets butterflies (or is it bees?).

Once again Lisa McCarley joined the ranks of testers for us!

Lisa’s quilt makes me think of some of the sunsets we have here in the spring! She chose fabrics by Cory Yoder for Moda, named Beautiful Day. And doesn’t it just give you a sense of that fresh-cut grass smell as the sun is setting? Gorgeous, gorgeous quilt!

Liz Wells participated again in pattern testing. Where she previously tested the All A-Whirl pattern she now jumped on the wagon with our Rolling Stars Quilt pattern.

This time, she created a cozy fall-themed quilt. If it weren't finally summer here in Alaska, I'd wish for autumn to snuggle up with this quilt! Liz shared the fabric receipts so you can choose your favorites.

Rachel Fields joined in again on our Rolling Stars Quilt pattern!

In addition to the impressive Trip Around the Wild quilt, Rachel also made our Rolling Stars quilt pattern using panels. Her choice of Northcott fabrics and layout for the panels turned out amazing. Her quilt will make anyone feel like taking a stroll in the woods and savoring life!
